webguppy theory of site design

There are three basic elements of any web site: content, design and function.
- Content is of course the actual information being conveyed—the raw data.
- Design is the look and graphical presentation. It’s the feel or attitude.
- Function is the organization, navigation and technical operation.
All three are important. If a lot of thought and effort goes into one element but not the other two, the result is a less-than-effective web site.
Wondering how to begin? Webguppy recommends you start here.

fees
- Domain Name Registration: $12.00 per year
If you decide to retain webguppy as your web hosting provider, the domain registration is FREE for as long as you remain our client.
(Domain name is your web address - example: yourgroovinwebsite.com.)
- Design Samples: $200.
After webguppy gathers information about your needs and expectations for your web site, we will create two or three sample design styles from which you may choose. In the unlikely event that you’re not satisfied with our ideas, there is no further obligation.
If, as expected, you’re completely thrilled and are ready to proceed, the $200 will be applied toward the agreed-upon Design Fee.
- Design Fee:
There is no set design fee. One company may require a complex web site with several different service requirements, while another may only require a simple way for customers to contact them.
The cost will depend upon the size and complexity of your web site, and is established in writing before we begin.
submitting content

The simplest way to give us your content is by email. We can accept just about any word processor or text file, or even extract content from an existing site which you wish to have re-designed.
If you get stumped on how to word or present certain information, let us know. We love a challenge! We’ll give you some ideasat no extra charge.
photos & graphics

Photos and graphics can be sent either via e-mail or by regular mail for scanning. In either case, we will optimize the photos for fastest load time possible.
approval process

Webguppy will provide you with a link to your site-in-process on our server so that you may view construction progress at any time. After completion and approvalor if you wish your site to be made available to the public while still in processwe will upload your site to your web host and make sure it’s working properly.
